We know that our community grows strongest when students and parents share their positive experiences with others. To say thank you, we’ve created a referral program that rewards you for helping your friends start their musical journey.
How the Program Works
It’s simple: help a friend find a quality instrument, and we’ll take care of your next rental payment.
The “3-for-1” Reward For every three new renters you refer to Stearns Violins, you will receive one month of rent—completely free.
- Spread the Word: Share your experience with friends, school classmates, or your private studio.
- Give Credit: When your referrals come in to start their contract, ask them to mention your name.
- Earn Your Credit: Once three referrals have signed their contracts, we will apply a full month’s credit to your account.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a limit to how many free months I can earn? Not at all! You can earn a free month for every three successful referrals. If you refer six people, you get two months free, and so on.
Does my referral have to rent the same instrument as me? No. Whether they rent a violin, viola, cello, or bass, it counts toward your referral total.
Do I still build equity during my free month? Yes. Your status in the rent-to-own program remains active, and your equity continues to vest just as if you had made a standard payment
